HIGH-FIDELITY SOUND FOR PLUG-AND-PLAY USE

ACTIVE FLOORSTANDERS PLUG AND PLAY

The Monitor Reference 5A brings power, clarity and convenience together in a pair of active floorstanding speakers. Amplification, sources and control are all built in, so no separate electronics are required. It is high-fidelity sound in a stylish form factor that sets up in minutes.

CLASS-D AMPLIFIER 2 x 60 WATTS RMS

The integrated high-performance Class-D amplifier delivers 2 x 60 watts RMS and 2 x 120 watts peak. Amplifier and drivers are developed as one system, so the power is always used where it counts. Dynamics stay precise and the presentation stays crystal clear.

25 MM fmax DOME TWEETER

A 25 mm fmax dome tweeter driven by a strong ferrite magnet delivers clear, detailed highs without distortion, even at high volumes. Response extends all the way to 40,000 Hz. Voices and instruments keep their air and fine texture at any level.

TWO 170 MM FE-DYNAMICS DRIVERS

Two 170 mm FE-Dynamics drivers handle midrange and bass in a 2.5-way configuration. One is dedicated to the midrange for vocal clarity and instrumental definition, the other is optimised for deep bass. The pair reaches down to 25 Hz without needing a separate subwoofer.

CONNECT EVERYTHING

HDMI ARC with CEC connects your TV, while Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX handles wireless listening. Optical, 3.5 mm stereo, RCA and an MM phono input cover your other sources. Digital inputs handle sampling rates up to 24 bit / 192 kHz. Television, turntable, streamer and laptop can all stay connected at once.

PREMIUM GERMAN AUDIO

BUILT-IN PHONO PREAMP

A built-in RIAA preamplifier lets you connect a turntable with an MM cartridge directly to the speakers. No separate phono stage and no separate amplifier are required. Vinyl becomes a plug-and-play source alongside everything else.

ONE CABLE BETWEEN SPEAKERS

All electronics live in the active speaker; the passive unit connects to it with the supplied cable. Only one mains connection is needed for the whole system. Setup is genuinely simple, even for a first hi-fi.

SOLID E1-MDF CABINET

The cabinet is built from E1-MDF panels that minimise unwanted resonance and keep the sound clean. Vibration-damping rubber feet decouple the speakers from the floor. A matte black front with textured black veneer gives the pair a calm, contemporary look.

EVERYDAY CONVENIENCE

A remote control, a front LED status indicator and automatic standby below 0.5 watts make daily use effortless. The system wakes the moment a source starts playing. Serious sound should not require a complicated routine.

A SOUNDBAR ALTERNATIVE THAT PLAYS MUSIC

With HDMI ARC the 5A handles television and film duty as well as any compact system. Unlike a soundbar it also delivers genuine stereo scale and depth for music. One purchase covers both sides of the living room.

ACTIVE POWER FOR EVERY SOURCE.
