SURROUND SOUND THE WAY THX INTENDED IT

TRUE DIPOLE SURROUND

The RD 200-THX is a two-way dipole speaker built for the side and rear channels of a THX Ultra2 system. Rather than firing directly at the listener it radiates into the room to create a diffuse, enveloping field. Effects surround you instead of pointing at you from a fixed spot on the wall.

THX ULTRA2 CERTIFIED

Together with the LCR 100-THX and the SUB 300-THX, the RD 200-THX forms a 5.1 system that meets the full THX Ultra2 standard. Certification covers output capability, dispersion and distortion in large rooms. Nothing here is approximate; every parameter was measured and signed off.

TWO-WAY DESIGN WITH 17 CM DRIVER

A 17 cm driver and dedicated tweeters give the dipole real output rather than the thin sound many surround speakers settle for. Power handling is generous enough for reference-level playback. Ambience, rain and crowd noise all keep their body and texture.

SEAMLESS MATCH WITH THE FRONT STAGE

The RD 200-THX shares its driver technology and voicing with the LCR 100-THX front speakers. Sounds travelling from the screen to the back of the room keep exactly the same tonal character. Pans stay smooth and convincing instead of changing colour mid-flight.

COMPACT ON-WALL FORMAT

The cabinet is shaped to sit flat and discreetly against a side or rear wall. Installation is straightforward and the speaker takes up almost no floor space. Surround channels stop being a compromise in the room layout.

PREMIUM GERMAN AUDIO

SCALES TO 7.2 AND BEYOND

Additional RD 200-THX pairs extend a 5.1 layout to 7.1 or 7.2 without any loss of coherence. The Cinema Ultra range was designed from the start to be expanded in stages. You can build the system your room allows today and grow it later.

READY FOR DOLBY ATMOS

Combined with AEH 400-ATM add-on speakers, the system extends into full three-dimensional Atmos configurations up to 7.2.4. The surround layer and the height layer are voiced by the same team to the same standard. Object-based soundtracks land exactly where the mixer intended.

LOW-DISTORTION ENGINEERING

Rigid diaphragms, well-ventilated voice coils and carefully controlled magnet systems keep distortion low at high output. Thermal stability means performance does not fade during a long film. THX certification is the proof rather than the promise.

ALSO WORKS OUTSIDE THE THX WORLD

Every Cinema Ultra model can be used with non-THX-licensed electronics and outside a complete Cinema Ultra set. There is no lock-in to a single receiver brand or configuration. The speaker earns its place on performance alone.

GERMAN ENGINEERING AT ITS CORE

Cinema Ultra was developed at Magnat in Pulheim to satisfy the toughest certification in home cinema. Each component was measured and revised until the THX engineers were convinced. German precision applied to the Hollywood sound.
